HIKING, MOUNTAINEERING, AND LOTS
OF CULTURE IN THE SENALES VALLEY

Senales Valley isn't large. It's not particularly long either. Nor do many people live here. However, this valley has a lot to offer in its slightly more than 20 kilometres. From the warm, sunny climate and apple orchards at the valley's entrance to the mighty glacier at its end, there's just a 25-minute drive.

And we're right in the middle of it. You can start hiking directly from the hotel and chalets: a leisurely walk around the Vernago lake, up to the Finailhof hut, or from alpine hut to alpine hut... Mountain enthusiasts are drawn even higher, to one of the numerous peaks in Senales Valley.

Sometimes, in your holiday, it's perfectly fine to take it easy. All leisurely hikers who enjoy a good stroll will find themselves in the right place here. Right outside the doors of the hotel and chalets, the nature of the Senales Valley begins. Just a few steps away, you can embark on the approximately 8.5-kilometer leisurely lake loop or continue hiking to the Finailhöfe huts. Explore the untouched Lagaun Valley nearby or venture into the Pfossental valley, and hike along the Merano High Mountain Trail in the Texel Group Nature Park... ARCHEOPARC, ÖTZI SITE, AND ÖTZI ROPE PARK IN THE SENALES VALLEY

Experienced mountain hikers shouldn't miss the challenging mountain tour in the footsteps of the "Man from the Ice." You can start this hike right from Edelweiss. It first leads to the Similaun Hut and from there, further up to the Tisenjoch at 3,210 meters, where a pyramid marks the discovery site of the glacier mummy "Ötzi." Need a break from hiking for a day? Then take a trip to the archeoParc, located just a 30-minute walk or a five-minute drive downstream in Unser Frau. This open-air museum showcases life, hunting, and cooking during Ötzi's time, 5,300 years ago. For adrenaline kicks, there's the Ötzi Rope Park high ropes course.
